I like the second one and I love the background....kind of gives the message that you're somewhere new and exciting, but still being thought of.....especially with the contrast of the map being in the distance and the girl being close.....far away but close to your heart?
I like the first one because I'm drawn to the woman's facial expression. What I like about the second one is the sense of mystery with only half of the woman's face revealed and there is more map present which makes it more postcardy? If I were to just go with my gut reaction though, I'd say I like contestant number one better.
First one is a "definitely"! Both are beautiful! but the I love the first for basically all the reason stated above already. I think this one works great, but keep playing if you want to! Maybe try to zoom in on part of her face like you did for the second one? IDK, just an idea. But I definitely love where you are headed and think that the first one gives great insight to your project without giving it away too much!
I like the first one better too for your postcard image.
